Chez Jane is a family owned and operated business deeply rooted in healthy lifestyles and eating tasty food!
Jane has been making this spread for years before the business began, to help make life easier in the kitchen. Spreading the mixture over chicken, fish, meat prior to cooking added an amazing taste to quick and easy meals.
After great encouragement from all who tasted this spread, Miguel and Jane decided to create Chez Jane and share this delicious application of healthy flavor with the world. To this day, Chez Jane donates proceeds of each jar back to Breast Cancer and Leukemia & Lymphoma research to honor Jane's battle with Breast Cancer, and Miguel's battle with Lymphoma.
Chez Jane was built upon the dreams of Jane and Miguel Rabay who believe strongly in supporting products that give back to cancer research. The company was created out of their own desires to lead healthier lifestyles and find alternative ways to fight the cancers that had inflicted their lives.
We are sad to report that Miguel succumbed to his cancer and passed away in May 2007. It is a loss which hit us hard as everyone loved Miguel. He was a genuine man with a powerful personality. Miguel and Jane have done a remarkable job making Chez Jane one of the finest products available; Jane handling the recipes with care and Miguel always a hard charger on the business side of the house.
There’s nothing we can do to ease the pain of Miguel’s absence. Cancer is a seemingly unstoppable force that takes what it wants. In our case, we’ve lost the man that helped start this company and make it great. We’ll continue without him as he wanted us to. His vision was for us to make the company even better than it’s ever been. We’re going to stick to that promise and do what we can to honor his memory.
In the meantime, we hope you enjoy the site and our spreads and that you can help us remember and appreciate the man that helped make Chez Jane what it is, a great company with a great product built by great people. We will continue to donate a portion from the sales of all Chez Jane Garlic Spreads to helping the wonderful people of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in their fight against cancer! The more we spend on research, the better chances of finding a cure in our lifetime.
